FLYING MACHINE
2010-11
Installation Game

view documentation: short | long

Flying Machine is a cooperative multi-player physical game installation in which participants play a computer game projected on a screen using custom input devices. Three players are operating three "simple machines", a lever, a pulley and a wheel with which they control different parts of a "flying machine". For the machine to fly, the players have to coordinate their actions. Because operating the devices is tiring, platforms are found on the way up for the machine to rest on. The challenge of the game is to successfully land on these platforms to gain enough strength to take the machine beyond the gravitational field.
